Parish
Organizations
Altar and Rosary: This organization promotes Christian life in the
parish, family, and individuals. It serves the parish in
social, spiritual, and financial support. Membership is open
to men and women of the parish.
Pastoral
Council: The chief
consultative body of the parish, this group aids the pastor in
the administration, planning and leading the parish. It's
purpose to is collaborate with the pastor in carrying out and
promoting the Gospel message and life of Christ.
Liturgical
Ministry: Lectors,
Greeters, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, and Servers comprise
this ministry that assists and serves at the Sunday liturgies.
Liturgical Ministry is open to all active parishioners who
have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

RCIA: The Rite of Christian Initiation
of Adults is a process for persons interested in becoming
fully initiated into the Catholic Church.
RCIA
(Adapted For Children): The Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults adapted for Children
accompanies and prepares children beyond the traditional age
for the Celebration of Baptism, Confirmation and
Eucharist.
Hope
Ministry: A team of parishioners
that offer support and journey with those who are in
bereavement following the death of a loved one.
Social
Concerns: The gathering,
reflection, and action of men and women who are compelled to
work for a more just and equitable community and world
Ministry
of Care: A group of parish
ministers who reach out to the elderly and/or ill who are
homebound, in hospitals or nursing homes offering them
Communion and companionship. Nurses take blood pressure once a
month after all Masses.
Liturgy
of the Word for Children: This
ministry invites children, ages 5 through 8, to celebrate the
Sunday Scriptures at their level of understanding.
CCD-Religious
Education Classes:
Religious Education and Instruction of weekly classes,
September through April, for children in kindergarten through
8th grade. Vacation Bible School happens one week in the
summer.
Sacramental
Preparation: Classes for
parents who wish their children to celebrate Baptism,
Reconciliation, and Eucharist.
Festival
Steering Committee: A group
responsible for the planning and coordination of the annual
Summer Parish Festival
Choir/Cantors: The Parish Choir and
Cantors serve as part of Liturgical Ministry and offer the
talents and voices in ministry to the Parish through the
ministry of music and song.
Liturgy
Committee: The group's focus
is the liturgy of the parish. It aids in the planning of
liturgical seasons, helps create appropriate Church
environments, and assists in the education and formation of
the parish in liturgical matters
Finance
Council: This committee
concerns itself with the financial and stewardship matters of
the parish. It's purpose is to collaborate with the pastor in
the administration of the parish's funds and to insure fiscal
responsibility and appropriate stewardship of the monies.
Family
Life Committee: A group who
promotes family and social activities in the parish to foster
community, unity and friendship among the parish members.
Community
Center Board: A consultative
body that works with the pastor to oversee the parish's
involvement and interests in the Mount Carmel Community
Center
Youth
Ministry: A citywide program, in
conjunction with the other Catholic Parishes of Ashtabula,
that offers education, service projects and activities that
foster Catholic ideals and morals for the youth of the parish.
Youth Ministry is held Sunday evenings during throughout the
year.
Marriage
Preparation/Sponsor Couples:
A comprehensive program for those preparing for Christian
Marriage. Sponsor Couples work with engaged couples as they
prepare for their upcoming wedding. The purpose of the program
is to provide a solid Catholic Christian foundation for
couples beginning their life together as a married couple.
Bingo
Workers: A group of dedicated
workers who administer and work at the Parish weekly Bingo
game (Each Wednesday 6:30pm at Mt. Carmel Center). This event
provides funds to the parish for its operation and
work.
